Sometimes you get chosen, sometimes you don't: Wan Azizah on axed reps

GE14 | PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has described the axing of the party's incumbent elected representatives for the coming general election as a normal occurrence.
“There’s nothing to it. It is a normal thing in politics,” she said when quizzed on the matter.
Pressed further, she said: “It is normal in general elections. Sometimes you get chosen, sometimes you don’t.”
Wan Azizah was speaking at a press conference in Petaling Jaya this evening after a briefing for Harapan's candidates for the 14th general election.
Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who had earlier given Wan Azizah the microphone to speak, retrieved it from her to say that BN is worse when it comes to dropping incumbents.
“BN is facing bigger problems. So many incumbents dropped with new ones taking their places.
“They are not very happy. Some even indicated they want to join Harapan,” he said.
When asked how many of these were thinking of switching over to the opposition pact, Mahathir clarified that they were not many in number, but were all well-known figures.
“I won’t name them as it will be an embarrassment,” he added.
When questioned further about Harapan’s own dropped candidates, he said the coalition's leadership would meet with them.
“When you choose (candidates), there will be those who are disappointed.
“But we will meet and talk (to them), and most will know this is not an election to appoint someone as a candidate.
“It is an election focused on getting rid of (Umno president) Najib Abdul Razak,” he stressed.  - Mkini
