GE14 | Blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris is mulling contesting against PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in Pandan.
Wan Muhammad Azri, better known as Papagomo, said he is doing so to "end" Wan Azizah's political career as well as teach her and her family "a lesson".
"They are too big-headed and think that our local politics is just for (the interest) of their own family.
"They change seats between father, mother, and daughter at a whim... they use the people as a rubber stamp to make them MPs so they can get allowances and all sorts of facilities.
"After that, they abandon the people. Come the next election they will change to another seat," he said in a statement today.
Asked whether he would contest as an independent, the blogger replied: "Wait and see."
In 2013, Wan Azizah's husband, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, filed an RM100 million defamation suit against Wan Muhammad Azri over the publication of lewd images, said to be of him with another man.
A year later, the High Court in Kuala Lumpur found Wan Muhammad Azri to have maliciously defamed Anwar, and awarded Anwar RM800,000 in damages.
Late payments eventually racked up the final amount to RM951,260.30, which the blogger paid off last December after collecting funds from Wangsa Maju Umno, and through fundraisers.
Wan Azizah will be taking over the task of defending the Pandan parliament seat from its incumbent Rafizi Ramli, who will not be contesting because of his conviction.
Rafizi had won the seat in 2013 with a 26,729 vote majority. - Mkini
