Najib gives the 'plastic finger' to 'Tsunami PHitnah'

GE14 | Caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has once again condemned the circulation of false claims in the run-up to the general election.
Accusing Pakatan Harapan of spreading such claims, he termed it as “Tsunami PHitnah (slander).”
Although the Malay word for slander is spelled “fitnah”, Najib deliberately added the capital P and H to reflect the abbreviation for Pakatan Harapan.
Najib said this in a Twitter posting this afternoon, where he also included an image alleging that 15 million fake plastic slip-on fingers have been imported from China to carry out multiple voting after being marked with indelible ink.
“This is not the first time I am posting this. But during election season, the slander hurled by the opposition has become worse, as if it is a 'TsunamiPHitnah'.
“So I wish to remind once again, let us not become a tool of this irresponsible group,” he added.
The caretaker prime minister cautioned the people not to be an agent of destruction by spreading slander.
“Tsunami Phitnah can cause upheavals among friends, family, worse still, it is capable of bringing destruction and ruin to the nation,” he added.
On Sunday, Najib had lambasted the opposition over the fake claim regarding the implementation of the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) for foreign vehicles entering Malaysia.
"How long do they want to lie to the people? Enough is enough #fakenews," he tweeted.
The Road Transport Department in a statement also denied the viral news which stated that the VEP would be implemented from May 1.
Prior to that, Najib criticised those who were willing to exploit a tragedy to spread political hatred.
“Where has humanity and sympathy gone to... This is too much. Remember the message of Allah SWT, 'slander is worse than murder',” he had tweeted.
This was in response to an image which went viral on social media, claiming that a Sabah BN politician had died in an accident and a box-laden with cash was found in his vehicle.
It was later clarified that Semporna Umno leader Abdul Hajan Gurimbang Hajan was not involved in the fatal crash. However, his wife and driver had died as result of the accident while his daughter was injured.
As for the box with bundles of RM100 notes, it was from an earlier counterfeit money case and was not found in the Sabah BN leader's car. -Mkini
