Zahid Is Selling Out Umno But Tuan Ibrahim Is Not Selling Out PAS

According to the PAS grassroots, that story about Tuan Ibrahim selling out PAS to Pakatan Harapan is merely a rumour with no evidence to support that story and cannot be believed, while the story about Zahid selling out Umno to Pakatan Harapan, although is also just a rumour with no evidence to support that story, can be believed.

Over the last year the PAS grassroots have been discussing a ‘very hot rumour’. This very hot rumour is regarding the alleged rift between Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and his Deputy, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The PAS people are very convinced that the rift between Najib and Zahid is very serious and is a retak menunggu belah (crack waiting to split).

What is the basis of this belief? Has something happened that gives rise to this suspicion? Has Zahid publicly condemned Najib? Has Zahid been contradicting Najib on so many things over this last year — like what the PAS Deputy President, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, has been doing to PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang?

Nothing of that sort. Zahid has done and said nothing to give any indication that he and Najib are at odds or are not on the same page. And neither has Najib said or done anything to give that impression as well.

So why are the PAS grassroots so convinced that there is about to be a huge explosion that is going to trigger a breakup between Zahid and Najib?

According to these PAS people, Zahid knows that Umno and Barisan Nasional are going to lose the coming general election. When that happens Zahid will resign from Umno and will walk over to Pakatan Harapan and join the victorious coalition. But which of the parties in Pakatan Harapan will he join? The PAS gossipers do not talk about this because they do not know. They just know that Zahid will resign from Umno and will walk over to Pakatan Harapan.

Will Zahid leave now, just before the coming general election, and join Pakatan Harapan before Umno and Barisan Nasional fall? No! According to these PAS coffeshop political analysts, Zahid will resign from Umno and join Pakatan Harapan only after the general election and after Umno and Barisan national have been kicked out.

Okay, so what happens if Umno and Barisan Nasional are NOT kicked out? What happens if Umno and Barisan Nasional win the general election? Will Zahid still resign from Umno and join Pakatan Harapan, who have lost the general election?

The rumour is Zahid will only reign from Umno and join Pakatan Harapan after the election and once Umno and Barisan Nasional have lost the general election. And Umno and Barisan Nasional are for sure going to lose the general election so no need to discuss the “what if Umno and Barisan Nasional win the general election will Zahid still resign from Umno and join Pakatan Harapan?” scenario because that is not what is going to happen.

Okay, so for sure Umno and Barisan Nasional are going to lose the general election while Pakatan Harapan is going to win (which is why for sure Zahid is going to resign from Umno and will walk over to Pakatan Harapan). What then will happen to PAS since that would mean PAS also has lost the general election for Pakatan Harapan to be able to win?

Oops….the PAS coffeshop political analysts did not think of that and have not been discussing it against the backdrop of Umno and Barisan Nasional losing the general election and Zahid resigning from Umno and walking over to Pakatan Harapan.

If you ask the PAS grassroots whether there is any evidence that this is going to be the scenario in the aftermath of the next general election, they will admit there is no evidence but they believe this is the scenario because of the ‘strong’ rumours.

What about the story that the PAS Deputy, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, is making a deal or electoral pact with Pakatan Harapan and is going against the party stand (that it will NOT make any deal with Pakatan Harapan as long as DAP and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad are part of the coalition) and that DAP is helping Tuan Ibrahim solve his financial predicament?
