Former DAP member Hew Kuan Yau was briefly admitted at the Kulai Hospital for a medical inspection following his hunger strike under police detention.
Johor Jaya assemblyperson Liow Cai Tung told Malaysiakini later that police have sent Hew back to the Kulai police district headquarters at 4.15pm.
"Hew's wife have met him just now after he was sent back to police station.
"She (Hew's wife) said that Hew's physical condition is more or less the same. Police told her that they took Hew to hospital for normal body check up.
"She also said that Hew will continue his hunger strike," said Liow when contacted.
Kulai District police chief Supt Razak Md Said declined comment.
On Monday, the police arrested Hew over a Facebook post which poked fun at Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor, comparing them to Disney's latest film "Beauty and the Beast".
Hew, who is better known as "Superman" among his supporters, has been remanded for four days, starting from yesterday and has vowed to go on a hunger strike.- Mkini
