Harapan Youth lodges report over Jamal's hearse 'abuse'

Pakatan Harapan Youth has lodged a police report against Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Yunos for allegedly abusing hearses and making fun of Islam.
The report was made by a delegation led by Selangor PKR Youth chief Afzainizam Rahman at the Shah Alam Police District headquarters today.
Afzainizam said the report was also made in line with the recent decree by the Selangor Sultan, who chastised those who misused hearses operated by state mosque committees for purposes other than funerary arrangements.
Also present were Parti Amanah Negara Youth chief Abbas Salimmi, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Youth chief Adhif Syan Abdullah and Selangor DAP Youth executive council member Mugheelan Mugi.
At around 3pm, before lodging the report, Afzainizam led a delegation of more than 60 youths from the Selangor Islamic Religious Council building to the police district headquarters.
The group also chanted "Daulat Tuanku" along the way.
Asked to comment on allegations that the police report was aimed at covering up the real issue of abuse of funds meant for senior citizens aid, Afzainizam denied the matter.
He explained that the police report was lodged as it was clear that the Selangor Sultan wanted the abuse of hearses to stop.
Yesterday the sultan issued a decree asking all mosque committees in the state that operate hearses to ensure that funerary vehicles are only used to transport bodies and not abused for other uses, such as protests.

This was conveyed in a letter from his private secretary Munir Bani, in which the sultan was said to disapprove of the abuse of the hearses.
While no names were mentioned, this seemed like an obvious reference to Jamal, who had previously commandeered 15 hearses as a gimmick for his "gravedigger" protest at the Selangor State Secretariat building in Shah Alam.
Jamal, who is Sungai Besar Umno division chief, had issued a statement supporting the Selangor Sultan's decree, adding that he was sure that no more abuses of hearse would occur, explaining that his use of the 15 hearses was symbolic of his protest against abuses in the state.- Mkini
