CHAOS IN MALAYSIA’S JONG-NAM MURDER PROBE: NOW TOP COP CONTRADICTS HIS DEPUTY’S CONFIRMATION JONG-NAM’S NEXT-OF-KIN TO COME TO KL

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar has denied that the next-of-kin of murdered Kim Jong-nam would arrive in the next few days.
Top cop said his deputy Noor Rashid Ibrahim had been misquoted by the media.
“No, not true. Don’t listen to rumours. Please do not be a rumour monger,” he told the media at KLIA before leaving for a minor pilgrimage (umrah).
The North Korean embassy, which was informed by the Malaysian police to ask the next-of-kin to come and provide DNA sample for the process of identification, has yet to respond to the police on this matter, Khalid said.
He reiterated that Malaysia will not send people to Macau for that purpose.
To a question if the suspects would be prosecuted in Malaysia, he said it is too early to tell as the investigation was still going on.
Khalid further declined to conclude there was a sinister plan to assassinate Jong-nam following the revelation that lethal chemicals was used in the case and the video clips related to his murder.
He has no idea where the VX nerve chemical used, came from.
“If the chemical content was brought (into the country) in small amount, it’s hard for us to detect (the origin of the chemicals),” he said.
