Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said several people who assaulted him at Parliament last November were not present during an identification parade that was finally called yesterday.
He said he had watched a video clip of the incident and it was clear that the “main characters” were not present.
“This includes the son of the deputy minister. There were two or three others who roughed me up.
“The person in the chequered shirt was not in the identification parade, nor was the person who shouted ‘takbir’ and had a lot to say,” Khalid said at a press conference today.
Instead, those who were brought to the identification parade were bystanders.
On Nov 24 last year, Khalid was attacked by a group who claimed to be from Pasir Salak, Perak.
The group claimed they were upset with him for using the Malay term “sial” to describe Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman during an exchange in the Dewan Rakyat.
Following this, police arrested 11 suspects, including three women, for the assault. Among the suspects was Tajuddin’s son.

Khalid also called on urged attorney-ceneral Apandi Ali to take the matter seriously because it involved a security breach at Parliament.
He also urged Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia to take action against Tajuddin, since the suspects were guests of his.
“The speaker must find ways to stop such incidents from recurring. If not, others will bring their supporters to Parliament. There will be chaos,” Khalid added.
