You're no noodle seller, take proper rest, MP tells Bashah

PAS' Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar today urged Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah to take additional leave to rest.

This is after Ahmad Bashah was released from hospital after being warded for several weeks due to intestinal complications.

Mahfuz said it was better for his duties to be undertaken by an acting MB, so he can fully recuperate.

This despite the Kedah constitution stating that the MB need not appoint someone to act for him, unless he is on leave for more than 28 days.
He added that Bashah should also not rush back to work out of fear that he may lose his post.

"Bashah is not a pesembur or noodle seller. He is also not MB of Umno. He is the chief executive of Kedah.

"When he is sick, he would not be able to concentrate. There may be executive council members (to assist him) but he needs to think, plan, lead, oversee etc," he said in a statement.

He added that Bashah should also not rush back to work out of fear that he may lose his post.

"Don't be like Prime Minister Najib (Abdul Razak) by ignoring advice to the extent that the entire Kedah ends up in intensive care," he said.

Ahmad Bashah was released from the Penang General Hospital intensive care unit after 18 days, on Thursday.

He had before that, chaired an executive council meeting from his hospital bed.

Ahmad Bashah, who took over from Mukhriz Mahathir following an internal coup in February, fainted during a June 4 meeting in Alor Setar.  -Mkini
