WHO OWNS MALAYSIA? UMNO SHOULD NOT BE TOO QUICK TO SLAP THE CHINESE, EVEN 'DAP CHINESE'

WHO OWNS MALAYSIA? UMNO SHOULD NOT BE TOO QUICK TO SLAP THE CHINESE, EVEN 'DAP CHINESE'
KUALA LUMPUR - In wake of the failed bid by 'Red Shirt' Malay protesters to attack Chinatown, brash Umno leaders have rushed to talk tough and tear down the 'heroic' image of Chinese envoy Dr Huang Huikang.
Huang had single-handedly foiled the attempt to create riots in Malaysia's Chinatown, that many have accused embattled Prime Minister Najib Razak of instigating in a bid to destabilize Malaysia and thereby cling to power.
The Umno leader who stands out - as of today - as the one who made the most boorish comments is Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, who warned that he will "slap" the Chinese in Malaysia if they take their complaints outside of the country.
"I want to warn the Chinese Malaysians, don't think when you have a problem, you want to complain, just a little bit also complain so that there will be people to protect them.
An Umno supreme council member, Tajudin even called on the local Chinese to stop "fantasising" that external powers would defend them.
"Chinese people in Malaysia, don't fantasize that there will be a big boss coming, that there will be a Godfather coming from China to help them.
So who owns Malaysia?
Not surprisingly, his outburst drew a hail of criticism from the Malaysian Chinese who attacked his 'inferiority complex'. Tajuddin immediately retreated claiming that he meant to insult only the 'DAP Chinese' - as if that made his comments acceptable.
"DAP Chinese are also Malaysian Chinese and altogether the Malaysia Chinese make up nearly 30% of the population. Guys like Tajuddin must understand that Malaysia does not belong to the Malays alone - all the citizens have a share. Malaysia belongs to all Malaysians," an Opposition politician told Malaysia Chronicle.
"Kampung (village) guys like Tajuddin must also realize the role played by superpowers in geo-politics and in the regional and global economy. When a super-power like China invests so many hundreds of billions in a small nation like Malaysia, they are not going to let nut-cases like Tajuddin, or Red Shirts chief like Jamal or even Najib the PM himself stir up racial trouble just to cling to power and in the process destroy China's investments.
"Beijing will take action one way or another - even if there were no local Chinese population in Malaysia at all. But this may be beyond the intellect of dumbos like Tajuddin and Jamal to understand."

As expected, last weekend had passed quietly without a hitch or any sign of the despicable Red Shirts. Petaling Street remained quiet with traders complaining of the sudden drop in visitors. Most locals stayed away as it made no sense to try and court disaster when glaring warning bells had been put up by the media.
The tension rose to a boil last week right up to the weekend with ‘Ali Tinju’ boasting of a 99percent chance that the rally would be on. Umno Divisional head Jamal Yunos was making daily headlines, hollering of riots if no action were taken against Petaling Street traders and warned the Chinese to stay away. His antics to ban cheap imitation goods and insisting that Malays be given a 30percent stake in the area had everyone in frenzy.
With the horror of the Sept 16th Red Shirts Rally still lingering fresh in the minds of KLites, where the Police had to dispense water cannons when the chaotic rally goers tried to storm the barricades at Petaling Street.
Who can personally guarantee and assure that a riot would not take place that Saturday if Beijing Envoy Dr. Huang had not emerged to make that statement and to ensure the safety of their Chinese nationals and others, who may be victims in the crossfire?
Damage Control
The flurry of activity following the incident suggests that it wasn’t coincidental. The damage has been done, and the government agencies made to look my fools. The Red Shirt incident is pointing back to Umno’s covert reengineering unmistakably and our red faced government wasn’t going to take the embarrassment lying down.
What soon followed was a statement by a politically expired ex-MCA Vice President Gan Ping Sieu to chide the Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Dr Huang Huikang's visit to Petaling Street, though well-meaning, was counter-productive, unnecessary and could be manipulated to the detriment of the country's frayed racial harmony. He also said that it was also uncharacteristic of the usual tasks and unusual course of diplomatic mission, of an ambassador.”
Gan’s statement caused a public uproar, with many accusing the MCA of extracting political mileage from the incident. . MCA could have been the hero, if they had convinced Umno to stop the rally but they remained strangely silent. Instead a Chinese Ambassador stole the limelight putting the MCA in a very awkward position.
By not putting a stop to the red shirt rally at the cabinet and BN Supreme Council level, MCA must take full responsibility for the fiasco.
Najib and Red Shirts leader Jamal
And as expected none of the BN current leaders had the marbles to show their faces, until Umno Youth Leader Khairy Jamaluddin came forward to make an official statement days later that; "We need not be afraid to express our feelings for fear of jeopardizing economic relations and other interests that we cannot reprimand them when they go against diplomacy norms," – aka- stop meddling with Malaysia’s internal affairs.
Of course, UMNO media Utusan charged in like a mad bull to snide the Ambassador and sarcastically implored him to look into the China Dolls issue, instead of meddling with the country’s affairs. Utusan’s remarks have once again backfired badly on the government, as the public took it as a direct call on the Chinese Government to meddle with our internal affairs.
And now that it is very clear that the Red Shirts Rally is Umno sanctioned, the embarrassment is spreading like wildfire refusing to burn out. What was Umno thinking when they decided to allow the rally to go ahead if not to destabilize race relations for good?
All this shows how pathetic the Umno led BN government has become in their effort to cowl its citizens and to exert control.
Gross diplomatic blunder.
How can a Chinese Ambassador interfere in the domestic affairs of another country? it is simply preposterous and uncharacteristic and he must be hauled up for questioning.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman then directed his officers last week to summon envoy Huang Huikang to seek an explanation over his statement that Beijing opposed any form of discrimination against races and would not tolerate violent demonstrations in Malaysia.
Ambassador Huang ignored the foreign ministry directive after private discussions with some Malaysian officials with some seeing it as defiance and part of China's growing assertiveness amid its rising economic and political influence in the region.

When Malaysian foreign ministry officials contacted the Chinese embassy in Kuala Lumpur to summon Huang; his aides told them he was very busy, a diplomatic sources said.
Huang then lobbied Ong Ka Ting, the special Malaysian envoy for China, and several Malaysian ministers, who decided to let Huang off the hook
One of the ministers, Nazri Abdul Aziz, has “admitted he made a mistake,” saying he had no intention to interfere in the foreign ministry’s affairs. , The Star daily reported Tuesday.
Malaysian dailies reported that Huang met Domestic Trade Minister Zainuddin Hamzah for more than two hours on Monday and Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri for dinner a day earlier.
Foreign Minister Anifah, also in New York with Najib, was left fuming over the move by some cabinet ministers to rescind his decision as he has not cancelled it.
The Big Question
Now the question on everyone’s lips is; What if the Chinese Ambassador did not make a presence at Petaling Street on that fateful day? Would events have evolved for the worst?
Would the Red Shirts have continued their march and causing further havoc? What if there were riots, bloodshed and untold casualties, like what happened in Mecca during a stampede?
Any bloodshed would cause the ugly spectre of May 13th to loom over the horizon and chaos would descend on the capital. A state of Emergency would be imposed which would be Najib’s wet dream, while he is away in New York trying to impress everyone that he is Malaysia’s most beloved leader and the only world leader to golf with US President Obama. Obama should be reading this!
If the Red Shirts rally had materialized, it would not be the size of the last National Day’s rally, which the Police guess-timated to be about 35 thousand strong. It would probably be a couple of hundred recruited homeless racists and bigots with nothing but blind rage and murderous tendencies, dead-set to engineer havoc.
Unlike the mammoth voluntary Bersih rally, the last Red Shirt rally would have cost a couple of million ringgit to organize, with hundreds of Felda buses ferrying in blurred elderly settlers and giving them money, accommodation, food and drinks while promising them a good time sightseeing the capital.
Most importantly, did the Chinese Ambassador’s presence avert another May 13th tragedy simply by being in Chinatown at the right time? No one will ever know and this incident will not make the pages of our future history book.
A helpless leader
Ex PM Dr Mahatir has directly accused Najib’s government of organizing the Red Shirts Rally. How can he deny it when he gave an audience to the Silat exponent association soon after the National Day rally, encouraging them with the 4 slaps remark and calling on them to die for the nation? It is simply too obvious for Malaysians to think otherwise.
Was Najib not aware of the ugly racist and bigoted events that transpired during the National Day Red Shirt Rally? Or was he secretly watching it on TV and salivating at the Red Shirts support, while support is waning nationwide? His decision to allow the weekend rally knowing that it could get ugly, while running off to frolic in New York city only compounds his guilt.
Malaysia-China relations have improved rapidly in recent years with bilateral trade burgeoning last year to US$101.98 billion with past investments in Project Iskandar, Johor, several big investments in Pahang and recently in Perwaja in Kemaman. China Tourist arrivals are set to make a big impact on our tourist dollars.
It will not be in Najib’s favour to ignore bilateral ties with China or jeopardize the good relationship with his sick diversionary tactics.
Was the Chinese Ambassador’s at Chinatown a coincidence?
There were even rumours that the China ambassador was specially invited to Chinatown to calm the situation. And boy! Did his presence work like magic!
More and more people are beginning to believe that the Beijing Envoy’s presence at Chinatown was no pure fluke coincidence, even though the Ambassador insisted that he was there with his wife to distribute mooncakes.
His remarks had stirred up an ashen faced government jettisoning them right of their comfy seats. The repercussions were immediate with a flurry of activity as Najib’s government moved in to put out the fire, culminating in the arrest of  bigot Jamal Yunos even though he insisted otherwise.
Both Ali TInju and Jamal Yunos sounded rather apologetic and denied that they were out to cause chaos during the press conference. Jamal Yunos on his release insisted that he was grossly misquoted, that he meant well and threatened to sue the media for misquoting him.
Meanwhile, Ali TInju issued another statement that his group belonged to the Red Movement and was not in anyway aligned to the Red Shirts led by Jamal Yunos. What an anti-climax for two demented Malay Hero wannabees, who declared their undying support for Premier Najib.
Even Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi came out to issue a statement that the country was not facing any kind of racial tensions, while taking the opportunity to reiterate that he was not and never a racist.
The word out there is that the Chinese Ambassador has single-handedly chased away thousands of would be Red Shirt gangsters ready to riot that weekend.
Most people believed that the Ambassador stated the obvious, something which our government has consistently failed to do. His presence is an eye opener that foreigners can see through the government smokescreen and will not hesitate to land a hand, if any race is being bullied. - MAILBAG
