The reason police questioned DAP youth Young Syefura Othman today over her nearly year-old Facebook post was because police could not locate her, said the party's legal bureau chief Gobind Singh Deo.
Syefura, or better known as Rara had her statement recorded this morning over her Facebook posting in September last year that allegedly insulted the royal institution.
She is being investigated under the Section 4 of the Sedition Act.
"They said they couldn't locate Rara, that was the only reason.
"They said they were looking for her for one year and couldn't find her," Gobind told reporters outside Dang Wangi police headquarters after Syefura had her statement recorded.
"I think that is quite strange because everybody knows where Rara is, I also told them if there is any problem just call me because I am DAP's legal bureau chief."
Syefura told The Malaysian Insider yesterday that her posting Facebook last September was related to activist Ali Abd Jalil and Universiti Malaya law professor Dr Azmi Sharom.
"I only posted '#Sultanbukantuhan'. That's all. But the Umno cybertroopers accused me of insulting the Sultan.”
