I had a dream – Zaid Ibrahim

I had a dream that my beloved country was free from crooks, manipulators and those who stole and embezzled. I had a dream that corrupt, spineless civil servants who currently have immunity from the law, had completely perished.
I had a dream that a new Malay party emerged from the cesspool to save the souls of the Malays. I had a dream that the present Umno, which has poisoned the hearts and minds of Malays, was defeated in the general election. I had a dream that the Royal Malaysian Police and other enforcement agencies had been cleansed of corruption and undergone a complete overhaul – they could be trusted, once again, to do their work fairly and justly. They had ceased to be the instruments of oppression and protectors of crooks and criminals.
I had a dream that I won a parliamentary seat in the general election as a candidate under the banner of Gerakan Harapan Baru, which then appointed me law minister and attorney-general. I dreamt that I was able to do a complete revision of the laws of our nation and at the same time, haul up all the crooks and their accomplices to account before a court of law for the criminal acts they had committed.
Waking from the dream, I was excited that my country would be once again free. I was excited that the true system of rule of law would return and that those who wanted to profit from this earth need not lose their soul.
Now, anyone who was guilty of any offence would not be spared the full might of the law even if he was Umno president and prime minister. Now, my grandson Ayesh would grow up safe and protected by the just system that we once had, now restored.
Now that I have woken up from the dream, I have to rush back to Kota Baru to see my old friends. Will they continue to support me? I know that Najib’s right-hand man Datuk Muhammad Fatmi Che Salleh is head of the Kota Baru Umno division and that the new attorney-general was once an official in the same division.
Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan, the incumbent MP for Kota Baru, is secretary-general of PAS, but I will work hard. I feel reasonably certain I can finish all of them off.
Who will help me make my dream come true? – zaid.my,
