KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Noor Rashid Ibrahim has denied that outsiders are interfering in the administration of the police.
Noor Rashid was commenting on allegations made by the former Special Branch deputy director Abdul Hamid Bador, who was reported in a local news portal yesterday as saying that outside parties were interfering in police matters.
He said all administrative decisions were made by IGP Khalid Abu Bakar, assisted by him as the deputy IGP and department directors.
“Nobody is interfering in police administration …we decide on our own,” he told reporters after opening a training course for the Taser Electro Shock Gun, Evidence.com and Axon Body Camera system at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) here today.
Last Thursday, Abdul Hamid was transferred to the Prime Minister’s Department as the deputy director of Security and Transnational Issues.
Earlier at the event, Noor Rashid said so far, 5,275 officers and personnel had undergone the TEA systems course.
