BACHOK - A group of individuals lodged a police report against an article published by Malaysiakini on allegations of conspiracy to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
The group’s representative Datuk Hilmi Yusuf said he had demanded Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to probe the matter.
He said if the claim was true it should be investigated, and if proven false, then the rakyat should be grateful.
“We want a true picture of the situation at hand and want immediate investigation.
“If it is true, then it is highly inappropriate and should be investigated and if not, we are grateful because it is just a rumour,” he told reporters after lodging the report at the Bachok district police headquarters, here, this afternoon.

He said what was important was the truth behind the matter that should be explained to the people, especially at the grassroots level.
On another matter, Hilmi said Umno does groundwork to explain to the grassroots on issues such as 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
He said the government now seemed to be experiencing a crisis of confidence among the people and the real explanation must be made by all leaders, including the new cabinet line-up.
