Two ministers also invited to lunch with Johore ruler and family
SINGAPORE: Two ministers of the Singapore government attended the Johor sultan’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house on Friday and were also invited to lunch with the royal family.
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Chan Chun Sing, and Minister for Social and Family Development, Tan Chuan-Jin, attended the Aidilfitri open house hosted by Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar at Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Baharu.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Chan and Tan and their spouses had an audience with Sultan Ibrahim and the Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.
They were also hosted to lunch by the Sultan and the Permaisuri Johor, and were joined at lunch by the sultan’s family and members of the Johor state executive council.
“Our ministers conveyed Hari Raya greetings and reaffirmed the warm ties between the people of Singapore and Johor,” the statement said.
