'Justo meeting': Own up, opposition figure told

Anonymous#007: If Communications and Multimedia Minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek can unilaterally conclude that anyone meeting with former PetroSaudi International director Xavier Andre Justo is participating in a conspiracy against PM Najib Razak, shouldn't he be more worried about the Umno man who had allegedly bought stolen data?

And by Ahmad Shabery's own deduction, non-denial is an admission of truth. Najib has not denied he received US$700 million (US$2.6 billion) of public funds in his personal bank accounts, as alleged by The Wall Street Journal, which was allegedly backed up by documentary proof.

How the monies were/are utilised is secondary - the primary and much more serious issue here is that Najib is a public official and civil servant, and the monies involved are public funds, allegedly channelled in a series of transactions from a public institution that he controls.

If anyone should not be in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), it should be Umno members and cabinet members, because Umno has unilaterally cleared Najib, and the cabinet has not opposed that decision.

Wg321: If Ahmad Shabery wants opposition figures to own up over a meeting with Justo, he must also ask the Umno man involved to own up too.

According to Singapore’s Straits Times, an Umno member was among 10 people who purportedly purchased PetroSaudi's data, allegedly stolen by its former director, Justo.

Slumdog: Since when has Justo been implicated in a conspiracy against Najib. This is the first I have heard of it.

Ahmad Shabery even went as far as saying that this is an act of sabotage against the country and it is regarded as treason.

Let me remind Ahmad Shabery, that there have been more heinous acts of treason and sabotage committed against the country by his party members, and thanks to Umno’s system of justice, they remain unpunished.

Donplaypuks: Ahmad Shabery, why don't you ask Najib to own up to the allegations that RM2.6 billion was illegally laundered into his personal bank accounts from abroad and illegally used to topple the state governments controlled by the opposition at the last general elections?

That's far more serious, isn't it?

SemoLina: If I go out to secure evidence that would implicate the PM in corruption, I would be committing treason? What rubbish.

Speaking Sense: How can it be treason if what Justo has revealed about high-level corruption is true?

Does this joke of a minister mean no one can check if the prime minister of a country has done something wrong?

Just answer the question - is the WSJ report true? No more ridiculous attempts to avoid the issue by threatening the opposition.

Bluemountains: Exposing the wrongdoings of a leader is conspiracy? Does the minister know what he is talking? The opposition leader who met Justo should be knighted for doing what he did.

Just_A_Rakyat: It's really baffling how Najib can have so many mentally-challenged ministers in his cabinet. Treason for meeting with Justo?

Unless you can prove that the individuals have colluded with Justo to falsify documents, there is no case.
Further, what did the Thai authorities charge Justo with? Extortion and blackmailing, not tampering the documents. Indeed, Justo denied doing so.

Swipenter: Where are we heading to? Meeting with Justo is a crime, an "act of sabotage and treason" that can get you arrested and remanded by the police?

I once thought that uncovering crimes against your country is the highest order of service. How wrong was I.

Saphire: Truly, this minister has no brains. Why should the opposition politician who had
met with Justo come forward? It is not a crime meeting him anyway.

Another laughable accusation is that the said opposition member is conspiring to overthrow Najib. Would ousting Najib be possible if he is specklessly clean in the 1MDB affair? If he is, he can withstand any form of conspiracy or blackmail.

On the other hand, can I say that there is a conspiracy to boot Pua out of PAC, as the days draw nearer when the CEO - both current and previous one - and possibly Najib too, would be hauled up to face PAC?

Pua is the brainiest of them all, and Najib would be no match to him, when subjected to close scrutiny by the former.

Anonymous 2305141436452229: How does Justo's expose sabotage our country exactly? He was merely providing as far as we know, yet to be disproved confidential information regarding a deal that PetroSaudi made.

Yes, while it may be illegal to divulge confidential email and to blackmail, that is the extent of his crimes.

There is a bigger crime - public money allegedly being siphoned off through illegal means. Why none of our cabinet ministers are concerned about this? -Mkini
