Litrak Group chief executive officer Sazally Saidi said the consessionaire are constantly monitoring their highways.
"We have increased our desilting work from once a week to three times a week especially in front of the IOI Mall in Puchong.
Sazally was commenting on the floods that had inundated the IOI Mall in Puchong, Selangor, last month.
"Prasarana Malaysia Bhd are also doing construction work near the IOI Mall. They must ensure that their site is well kept and there are no hindrance," he said.
Sazally said that the main concern was the downstream part of the drain which ends at the Klang river.
"We have checked the area out and there are a lot of vegetation and silting. The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) have to work together with the Drainage and Irrigation Department to address the issue," he said.
Sazally said that MPSJ had already started the desilting work in front of the IOI Mall.
"There must be a concerted effort by the authorities to ensure that another flood doesn't happen in the area," he said.
The Malaysian Insider had reported that the mall's open air car park was flooded and the outer shoplots were affected during the flood on June 10.
The middle and left lanes of the Puchong-bound side of the highway was totally flooded and vehicles had to squeeze into the right lane to get by the IOI Boulevard area.
The flash floods, which lasted about 20 minutes, resulted in a traffic jam along the LDP, spilling over into the adjoining Sprint highway.
Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo had also urged the authorities to find a solution to the flash floods.
He had said that MPSJ and all the relevant parties should address the issue before another downpour occurs.
"The flood here is a recurring issue that has to be tackled immediately. It is raining almost daily and another flash flood can happen," he had said during a site visit.

  1. How many years has it been?
Since another 'alternate' political party has taken Selangor??

From the Batu Caves fiasco to every single fiasco in the state.
The same MODUS OPERANDI is still the same....TAI-CHI.
Pointing fingers is always the fastest & BEST way to absolve the problem, at least to the politicians, that are still alive....

Both sides of the politicians are actually ARCH-DEVILS versus DEVILS, both are equally incompetent. Which side to support? Both sides are COMPLETELY USELESS...
