Salleh: Mahathir happy only if Najib quits

He urges the former Prime Minister to weigh the various options before him on the 1MDB scandal and stop attacking others.

KOTA KINABALU: The only thing that can satisfy former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is if Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak quits his post.
“Anything short of that would not be acceptable to him,” concedes Sabah Speaker Salleh Keruak in his latest blog posting. “No amount of explaining regarding 1MDB was going to satisfy Mahathir.”
The former Prime Minister will only be satisfied, he reiterated, when Najib resigns as Prime Minister.
He was commenting on Mahathir continuing to attack 1MDB Chief Arul Kanda Kandasamy, 1MDB and Najib, among others.
Salleh also thinks it’s high time that Mahathir stops asking questions and instead gives those he’s attacking “the answers to those questions he’s asking since only his answers are acceptable and everyone else was wrong.”
“He can give the police and MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) his answers to help them in their investigation.”
“Mahathir raises a lot of questions based on suspicion and says that all the replies to his questions are lies,” lamented Salleh.
Mahathir, he reiterated, has so many suspicions and questions but when answers are given he rejects them and calls them lies.”
“So what more does he expect?” asked Salleh. “When you do not reply he implies something was wrong but when you reply he calls them lies.”
“What is it that can satisfy Mahathir?”
The former Prime Minister, he noted, wants the police and the MACC to investigate the allegations of corruption and abuse of power in 1MDB. “He’s upset that the police and the MACC are not doing anything about it.”
Maybe, he ventured, Mahathir should lodge reports with the police and the MACC. “When he makes these reports with the police and MACC, he can also hand in all the evidence that he has to prove wrongdoing in 1MDB.”
