CYBERJAYA - Prime minister Najib Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor recounted her encounter with his schooldays driver on a visit to a care centre for the elderly.
She said Abu Bakar Ahmad, 78, still remembered that point in time well, and even described the experience with nostalgia because he had chauffeured a child who was the current prime minister.
Abu Bakar said he was proud that the child he had driven to school had become the country’s prime minister, adding that not everyone received such opportunity to have the experience.
He said he was approached by a relative who was the driver for the family of Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, then the deputy prime minister, to take Najib to school. It happened only once.
“I still consider it a sweet experience, especially when I had just obtained my driving licence,” he added.
