Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan told The Malaysian Insider that City Hall was finalising the enhancement details for the complex.
“We expect to start the renovations at the complex in a month or two,” he said.

“We will have to renovate the first floor and install all the necessary amenities for the hawkers operating there.
“We expect the hawkers to come in to the complex by November,” he said.
Loga said City Hall was trying to complete the work before the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Asean Summit in November.
It was reported that hawkers from the former Pines restaurants were relocated to the Lorong Chan Ah Tong field a few years ago to make way for the development of the RM16 million complex.
It was completed two years ago, but the hawkers could not move in because the area was not built to specifications and the first floor was lacking cooking facilities.
The hawkers asked City Hall to bring the building up to standard before they would move in.
Little India Petty Traders Association president G. Gunasegaran said that the traders were looking forward to moving into the new complex.
“The 17 hawkers are happy to hear that the complex will finally be completed.
“We hope that City Hall will install all the necessary amenities,” he said.
The Pines restaurants on Jalan Tun Sambanthan were demolished in 2010 to make way for the construction of the complex, part of the RM35 million Little India project.
The new complex has a Moghul architectural design, features decorative domes on top of the building and the facade has intricately designed columns and cornices.
The building comprises two basement levels with 170 parking bays, 12 food outlets on the ground floor for indoor, as well as alfresco dining and six dining outlets on the first floor.
The second floor will become office space, primarily for City Hall’s Lembah Pantai branch office.
