ALL EYES ON DR M-NAJIB SHOWDOWN: Will Najib's men block Dr M at no-holds-barred 1MDB tell-all
KUALA LUMPUR - Former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to attend an open townhall dialogue session organised by SukaGuam, where Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will answer and explain on current issues including Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) and 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
“Highly likely,” that was the response from a source close to Dr Mahathir when asked by The Rakyat Post to confirm the latter’s attendance.
Earlier Astro Awani reported that Dr Mahathir’s special officer confirmed the former prime minister will be present at the dialogue session at Putra World Trace Centre (PWTC) scheduled to begin at 9am tomorrow.
The three-hour dialogue session “Nothing to Hide” organised by the Malaysian Volunteer Lawyers Association (SukaGuam) allows non-governmental organisations and the media to ask the prime minister questions.
The dialogue was announced at a press conference by SukaGuam’s chairman Datuk Khairul Anwar Rahmat on Tuesday.
“There will be no restriction as to what can be asked during the dialogue session. All questions are welcome and we hope the prime minister will be able to answer all of them.
SukaGuam's chairman Datuk Khairul Anwar Rahmat had said at the press conference to announce the town hall dialogue that former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is welcome to attend the session.
“The objective of this programme is to clear the people’s doubts and restore their confidence in the government,” Khairul said at the press conference held in Wangsa Maju.
Khairul, at the time, had also said that the association would be more than happy to have Dr Mahathir at the event if the latter wanted to participate.
“This is an open forum. If Dr Mahathir wants to come, we welcome him as we are not sure how to send the invitation to him,” Khairul Anwar had said.
A 1:13 minute promotional video highlighting the open dialogue tomorrow has also been posted on the Dialog PM bersama NGO Facebook page.
The trailer with tense music, highlighted several issues in bold captioned titles, among others BR1M, the late Mongolian model Altantuya Shariibuu and 1MDB. - Therakyatpost
