IGP REVENGE SHOCKER: Cops ASSAULT Tian Chua during arrest in P Pauh
PERMATANG PAUH -PKR's Chua Tian Chang was allegedly manhandled when he was arrested after turning up at a ceramah at Jalan Tuna in Seberang Jaya shortly before midnight.
According to Machang Bubuk state assemblyman Lee Khai Loon, he was with Chua in an earlier ceramah at Cross Street without any incident.
"It was only after he went to the Jalan Tuna ceramah, he was brutally arrested at about 11.40pm," he said when contacted.
It is learnt that the PKR leader commonly known as Tian Chua is being taken to the central Seberang Perai district police headquarters in Bandar Perda.
It is unclear what Chua was detained over. He had been arrested earlier the same day for participating in the May Day rally in Kuala Lumpur to protest the Goods and Services Tax (GST), but was released in the evening.
Kapar MP G. Manivannan confirmed that Tian Chua was being transported to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, a little over an hour after he was detained.
Manivannan said that Tian Chua was in his car with two other people — his aide and his driver — when police forced them to pull over.
On Twitter, Tian Chua said his car was intercepted in the middle of the highway at Seberang Jaya where, according to him, he was forcefully pulled out by several policemen.
He claimed the cops acted rudely and roughly when he asked whether he had been arrested, and alleged that some had pulled him by the hair while others hit him on the head.
At about 12.30am, he tweeted that he was being taken to the Dang Wangi where his statement will be taken.

Lee later confirmed that he, along with Subang MP Sivarasa, Pulau Tikus state assemblyman Cheah Kah Peng and Batu Uban state assemblyman Dr T Jayabalan were with Tian Chua's aide, Chin Sin Pang, to lodge a police report after the latter was allegedly battered by police resulting in a minor injury.
Tian Chua's driver, 18-year-old Mohd Huraimi Husri, later told the media that he lodged a police report after his phone was confiscated during the arrest when he was also allegedly slapped by the police.
He explained that after Tian Chua found out that he was about to be arrested after the ceramah, the latter decided to head to Yayasan Aman to ensure the arrest was orderly.
But his plan did not play out when police decided to cut Tian Chua's car off at a traffic light and barricaded his vehicle in with a squad car, before forcing all three men out. - TMI
