Housewife dies of H1N1 in Port Dickson

Patients with diabetes, pneumonia and asthma should seek treatment immediately if they have the flu to check for Influenza A (H1N1), advised Health Minister Dr S Subramaniam.

“Early treatment is important because these patients are highly susceptible to H1N1,” he told reporters yesterday, when asked to comment on the death of a housewife at Port Dickson Hospital early this week.

Negri Sembilan Health director Dr Abdul Rahim Abdullah was reported to have said the woman who suffered from pneumonia experienced breathing difficulties and nausea on May 5 before being sent to the hospital.

The woman died of severe pneumonia due to H1N1, according to the doctor.
