PETALING JAYA: Following activist Hishamuddin Rais’ alleged abduction, Tian Chua has been told by the police to turn himself in at the the Dang Wangi police headquarters last night, said PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil.
Earlier last night, activist Hishamuddin had been seen accosted by men in plainclothes in a silver Honda Accord while walking to Dataran Merdeka, the venue for an anti-Goods and Services Tax (GST) rally, organised by the coordinators of the #KitaLawan rally.
Hishamuddin had tweeted: “#KitaLawan – wear all BLACK-2morow 4pm we meet@SOGO#KitaLawan all form of oppression#KitaLawan la lutte continue!” prior to his alleged kidnapping.
According to Fahmi, Hishamuddin had been brought to the Dang Wangi police headquarters in KL, The Star Online reported.
The 60-something Hishamuddin told The Malaysian Insider through a phone call to Bukit Lanjan assemblywoman Elizabeth Wong that he did not know why he was being detained.
He was waiting for the investigating officers to question him, but had not yet been represented by a lawyer.
He said he was worried that there would be no one to feed his cats, dogs, and turtles as he lived alone.
He alleged that he had been “abducted” soon after he alighted from a taxi.
Fahmi expects both Tian Chua and Hishamuddin to be detained overnight.
