PKR has revealed today that Putrajaya has just ordered a new private jet for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's use.
Its secretary general Rafizi Ramli told reporters this at the Parliament lobby today that this brings the tally to seven jets owned by the government.
The Pandan MP said the latest addition to the fleet – Airbus ACJ320 – was secured through a direct negotiation hire-purchase deal with Jet Premier One (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
He said this is the same company handling the current jet commonly used by the prime minister – Airbus ACJ19 – which was secured for RM28.8 million yearly in hire purchase and RM5.5 million in yearly maintenance cost, adding that all these did not include the cost of fuel.

"Even the 1Malaysia logo has been painted on it.
"This shows the Najib administration is continuing with its wasteful ways, just as the people are shocked to find out about the 1MDB scandal," he said.
Rafizi said the purchase of the jet, using the taxpayers' money, was bound to fuel the people's anger, given that the GST would be implemented in two weeks time.

Steven Sim (DAP- Bukit Mertajam) said that while the Opposition did not support the Sedition Act, if there were one person who had committed sedition, it was the prime minister.
"If there were one person who has committed the crime of sedition, it has to be the prime minister.
"He had raised the anger of the people who have so many troubles to deal with, yet he buys another jet," he said.
Dr Mohd Hatta Ramli (PAS-Kuala Krai) pointed out that given that the capacity of the jet is 200 passengers, there would be heavy costs involved in refurbishing the interior as it is not being used for commercial purposes.
"It is particularly sad for the flood victims; they have to grapple with so much hardship, especially in Kuala Krai where homes have yet to be rebuilt, but we are now exposed to these purchases," he added.
Rafizi today urged the prime minister to cancel the jet order.
He also said that the opposition would expose more on the actual price of the jet in the next few days.
