May 13 tweet: IGP orders probe of Penang DCM

P Ramasamy denies saying he's not afraid of Malay threats.
ramasamy_khalid_may13_300GEORGE TOWN: Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar has instructed Penang police to investigate Deputy Chief Minister P Ramasamy for allegedly challenging the Malays to “bring May 13 on” if that is what they want to do.
Khalid, who sent the instruction to the Penang police chief through Twitter this morning, referred to a tweet attributed to Ramasamy, which said: “I have never feared facing the Malays. If the bloody episode occurs again today, I have long been prepared. MIC, Gerakan and MCA may be afraid. If you want May 13, bring it on now.”
Ramasamy has denied that he used those words.
“I never made that ‘gentar’ remark,” The Malaysian Insider quoted him as saying. “The content of the statement is false. Someone had added those words.”
He speculated that the tweet could have been a twisted version of one he sent out months ago as a response to Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, who remarked last year that it was possible May 13 would happen again.
“I said we should no longer be intimidated by such talk about May 13 when I challenged those who harp on the matter to bring it, but I never said ‘gentar’,” he said.
He said the police had already investigated him over the original statement.
“It has been seven or eight months since then,” he said. “I think even the police have completed their investigations. Why is the IGP tweeting as if it just happened yesterday?
“It is fine if the police want to talk to me again. They can come see me. No problem.”
He questioned if the police had called Muhyiddin for his statement.
