‘IT IS NOT REFERRING TO RAJA-RAJA MELAYU,’ TONY PUA TELLS IGP

Tony Pua
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar posted on Twitter today that Petaling Jaya Utara Member of Parliament Tony Pua will be called in to explain his Twitter posting. Pua later edited his tweet claiming ‘the IGP did not understand’.
(The Rakyat Post) – Petaling Jaya Utara Member of Parliament Tony Pua responded to the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar’s tweet today saying that the IGP had misunderstood his tweet.
“It was 100% not referring to Raja-raja Melayu (the royalty). So he does not have to worry,” he said when contacted by The Rakyat Post.
Pua, on his Twitter account @tonypua, had posted “Bastards. Real bastards. Royal my foot” at 4.31pm today in response to PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar’s arrest at Dang Wangi police station.
This garnered Khalid’s attention, who later tweeted using his Twitter handle @KBAB51 and said “@PDRMsia will call this MP to explain what he meant by ‘Royal my foot’. Is this referring to the Malaysia’s royal institution?”
Pua, who is also DAP’s national publicity secretary, later edited his earlier tweet by taking off the part where he said “Royal my foot”.
When asked why he edited the post, Pua said “because the IGP did not understand”.
Nurul Izzah this afternoon came to the Dang Wangi police station to give her statements on the Opposition coalition’s Kita Lawan rallies and for sedition regarding her speech in Parliament but later were told that she would be remanded for one night.
Nurul Izzah, in her speech in Parliament, had criticised the judiciary for sentencing her father, Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to a five-year jail term for sodomy.
