Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's popular blog is back online after a three-hour 'blackout'.Dr Mahathir's popular blog is now accessible intermittently, three hours after it was suspended due to what was described as "high traffic volume".
His chedet.cc blog earlier carried a 403 code, which means denied access to the webserver. It was reported that the main page had displayed the message, “the account has been suspended”.
The Star Online reported that Sufi Yusof, aide to the former prime minister, said the blog was suspended by its administrator due to high traffic volume.
He said that the measure had to be taken as the “website was crashing”.
“The blog was not blocked by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. Due to the heavy traffic, we had to suspend the blog.
“The administrator is doing remedial work as we speak,” he was quoted by The Star Online as saying.
The site was said to have been inaccessible from 4.30pm onwards.
