AFRAID SIRUL WILL SPILL THE BEANS? PAS forsaking voters for murderer - Umno blogger

As Umno is engaged in rebuilding the lives of those hit by the recent floods in the PAS-governed state of Kelantan, the Islamic party is more concerned about a murderer as opposed to its voters, wrote a pro-Umno blogger.
The blogger also pointed out while others organised humanitarian missions to help victims of wars such as in Palestine, PAS launched one for Sirul Azhar Umar  instead.
"It is not enough that PAS defends a sodomite (in reference to Anwar Ibrahim), it now has become the spokesperson of a murderer," he added in a posting published in Umno Online.
The blogger, who writes under the pseudonym KuntaKinte Malaysia, said the former police commando most probably killed Atltantuya Shaariibuu for monetary purposes.
In other words, he noted, PAS is now focusing on a humanitarian mission for a hired killer.
"In the West, a political party which joins forces with a convicted criminal would not get the support and trust of the people," he added.
Treachery
Last week, Mahfuz flew to Australia with Sirul’s mother Piah Samat to visit her son who is being held at an immigration detention facility in Sydney.
The PAS leader termed it as a "humanitarian" effort.
Sirul fled to Australia prior to the Federal Court sentencing him and another ex-police commando Azilah Hadri to death for the murder of the Mongolian national.
When he left the country, Sirul was still free given that the Court of Appeal had acquitted the pair.
Australian law dictates that those facing the death penalty cannot be deported back to their home countries.
Meanwhile, the pro-Umno blogger questioned if Mahfuz's action amounted to treason.
"When this comes from an Islamic leader, does it not show that Muslim politicians in this country have worse moral values than others?
"Is a lawmaker who is a traitor to his country's own judicial system still qualified to be in Parliament?" he asked. - M'kini
