SHOCKING UMNO: 'House auctioned off without my knowledge' - Najib critic who reported against Najib's 1MDB
Khairuddin Abu Hassan, who is facing a 'firing squad' from his own Umno members for a police report lodged against the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), is shocked that his house has been put up for sale without his knowledge.
Khairuddin said he was told by several bloggers today that a bungalow unit he owns in Kuala Lumpur will be auctioned off with the starting price of RM2.1 million.
He said the auction was carried out at Hotel Istana today, but he has yet to know the outcome of the sale.
"How can this happen when I have not been notified, nor have I received any letters from the bank," Khairuddin  told Malaysiakini, when contacted.
"It is true that I will be disposing of the house, but I have already found a buyer willing to purchase at RM5.1 million," added the Batu Kawan deputy chief.
"Surely there must be procedures to follow. I'm considering legal action against the parties involved," he stressed.
Khairuddin conceded that he has defaulted in his loan repayments, but insisted he did not get any warning from the bank. He was also declared a bankrupt by the Department of Insolvency last year.
No pressure to retract police report
Khairuddin does not want to speculate why this has happened at a time when he had recently given his statement to the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Unit.
He will find out the outcome of the auction on Monday, and proceed with further action then.
He vowed that this is not going to pressure him to retract his police report - which he lodged on Dec 12 - where he questioned the alleged mismanagement of 1MDB funds.
Following the move, several Umno leaders - particularly from the party's youth wing in Penang, and Malay rights NGO Pekida - lodged police reports against Khairuddin, claiming that he had issued false claims against 1MDB.
Khairuddin claimed to be puzzled at Umno's jitters over his report, when he had not accuse any of them for the problems on 1MDB, which is a brainchild of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak (right).
"I have done my duty, and the rakyat support my actions. I am not going to give up.
"I will fight 1MDB until the truth is out. The battle will go on," he said.
Khairuddin plans to speak to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) next week. - M'kini
