KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) secretary-general Datuk Kumaar Aaman lodged a police report against the party's former president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu alleging that he had threatened him during a telephone conversation today.
Kumaar who lodged the report at the Dang Wangi police station at noon had alleged that he received a telephone call from Samy Vellu who questioned him on the new security measures taken by the MIC at its premises at Menara Manicavasagam here.
He alleged that during the conversation, Samy Vellu berated him and questioned his authority in enforcing the measures.
Kumaar also alleged that Samy Vellu had referred to him as a "rascal" and uttered the words "finish you off".
In the same report, Kumaar also alleged that Samy Vellu's son and former MIC strategic director Datuk Seri Vell Paari had sent him a text message which was slanderous.
He said in the text message, Vell Paari allegedly questioned Kumaar's position as secretary-general of the MIC by calling it invalid.
Kumaar also claimed that there was a text message being circulated claiming he had spoken rudely to Samy Vellu and instigated MIC members to gather at its headquarters to hold a protest. - Sundaily
