Lajim Ukin heads Sabah PKR's new line-up
Kota Kinabalu - Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah announced its new leadership line-up for the 2015-2018 term at the party headquarters here, Friday.
Its Chairman Datuk Lajim Ukin said the appointment of the State Leadership Council (MPN) was made on the basis of amicable and mutual agreement by all involved.
"There is no demotion process in forming this new MPN as we have discussed this matter together and all agreed with their appointments although some of our elected representatives are not holding key positions but they are still in the main line-up.
"Also, there was no pressure and intervention from the top party leadership for PKR Sabah in forming its new line-up.
"I hope no quarters would speculate or take advantage of this new line-up to stir the strong unity in the state-level party here because all was done based on autonomy and unanimity," he said. Lajim said seniority, race, Muslim Bumiputera and non-Muslim Bumiputera factors were also taken into account when forming the line-up as well as old and new faces, young and old members.
"I have also included a mix of old and new faces in the new line-up and participation of Muslim Bumiputera and non-Muslim Bumiputera, including women and young people from various professions and technocrats, to strengthen the party in the State.
"However, the heads for Wanita, SriKandi and Youth wings for the PKR Sabah will be announced at a later date," he said.
Lajim, who is also Klias Assemblyman, is PKR Sabah Chairman appointed by the party President Datuk Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and endorsed by the central level of political bureau and Central Leadership Council (MPP) of national PKR.
Api-Api Assemblywoman Christina Liew was maintained as State PKR Deputy Chairman, while veteran politician Datuk James Ghani was appointed as Vice-Chairman 1, followed by Kota Belud PKR Divisional Chief Mustapha Sakmud and Stephen Sandor as the Vice-Chairman 2 and Vice-Chairman 3, respectively.
Other leaders appointed to other main posts in the MPN are Datuk Maijol Mahap, who was previously the PKR Sabah Information Chief, as the party secretary, and he is assisted by assistant secretary 1 George Tann Junior, assistant secretary 2 Amru Abd Kadir and assistant secretary 3 Abidin bin Darus.
Ustaz Abd Rahman MD Yakub was appointed as the coordinating secretary and he is assisted by his assistant 1, Rosli Masaliku, and assistant 2, Kenny Chua, who is also PKR Penampang deputy chief.

Inanam Assemblyman Dr Roland Chia, who was formerly the second Vice-Chairman, has agreed to be appointed as the treasurer in the new line-up and he is assisted by assistant treasurer 1, Teo Kin Kee, assistant treasurer 2, William Chin, and assistant treasurer 3, Ramlan Naim.
Meanwhile, Lajim named Moyog Assemblyman Terence Siambun, who was formerly the PKR Sabah Treasurer, as the party information chief, and he is assisted by first assistant information chief, Jaafar Ismail, second assistant information chief, Adris Taripin, and third assistant information chief, Apandy Angindi.
He said veteran politician Datuk Karim Ghani, who was formerly the Election Director, has been appointed as the Political Director.
"A total of 18 divisional chiefs in Sabah are members of the main committee line-up along with the heads of Wanita, Srikandi and Youth wings.
"We have also eight members from various professions to be the appointed committee members in the line-up," Lajim said.
In addition, he said 36 state-level bureaus have been created which are the same as those bureaus at the central party level.
"I am the director of Political Management and Strategy, while Christina is the head bureau of Discipline and Local Government, while Terence is the Communication and Media bureau head, Penampang MP Darrel Leiking who is the appointed national PKR Vice-President as the legal bureau head of PKR Sabah here.
"Meanwhile, Dr Roland Chia will be asked to choose to head a bureau from among five to six bureaus that will be set up soon," he said. - http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/
