The RM250 million loan given out to the family of Shahrizat is expected to be irrecoverable even though the Federal Government intends to sue the company, and only after such a long time even though the scandal was exposed many years ago.
What is the point of suing a company with no net worth and a failed business endeavour? In the end, NFC will just wind up and the loan will be written off as another bad debt. That is the reason why Kirimitomas Agro Sdn. Bhd. refused to takeover the debt-ridden company.
Even though Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni claims that the government had recovered RM79.9 million and sealed NFC’s assets worth RM23.3 million as reported in Malaysian Insider on Nov 5, the question remains as to what happened to the RM49.7 million luxury condominiums and the luxurious cars bought with the RM250 million loan?
Initiating a lawsuit against NFC sounds as hollow as the ring of a cow-bell and if the Federal Government is serious about recovering the loan, they should go after Shahrizat. After all, the loan would not have been given to her family members if not because of her connections.
The peculiar thing about the Prime Minister though is that he had even appointed Shahrizat as his special advisor on women’s affair in the Prime Minister’s Department.
Where is the willpower to rid the country of squanderers and of those living a bourgeoisie lifestyle especially the elite and selected few, while the rest of our countrymen suffer with rising living costs and impending GST?
