Who’s in charge in Putrajaya, asks DAP

Party adviser Lim Kit Siang said blatant injustice appeared to be the order of the day in the country, five years after Najib became prime minister.
Lim asked whether Najib was the mastermind behind the sedition blitz or whether he had lost control of Putrajaya.
“What type of justice do we have in Malaysia if a person can be arrested for holding a slipper against a poster of Najib?” Lim said in a statement today, referring to the arrest of 58-year-old odd job worker M. Krishnan by police last Saturday.
Krishnan was later released on police bail. He had protested against the recent increase of fuel prices outside the parliament building and held a slipper over Najib's image on a banner.
"Nobody knew about the incident until the photograph of Krishnan was circulated via social media by Umno and Barisan Nasional cybertroopers," Lim said.
"What he did was wrong, but how can he be arrested almost immediately while people like Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali get off scot-free?"
Last week, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri was criticised after revealing that Ibrahim would not be charged over his threat to burn the AlKitab, the Bahasa Malaysia Bible.
Nancy said the decision not to take action against Ibrahim was because he was merely defending the sanctity of Islam.
"Nancy compounded her error by claiming that Ibrahim's actions had been protected under Article 11(4) of the Federal Constitution," Lim said.
"If Ibrahim's actions are defended by the Federal Constitution, should the same not be applied to Krishnan under Article 10(1) on freedom of expression?
"The clear disparity over the swift action against Krishnan and the non-action against Ibrahim merely highlights the blatant abuses in the administration of justice."
Lim said if there were really an independent and impartial exercise of prosecution powers in Malaysia, Utusan Malaysia would be dominating court time and space.
“Malaysians must wonder whether they are engaged in a dialogue with the deaf as Putrajaya appears oblivious to the white terror sedition blitz,” he said.
