Some loser commented the other day that I blow my own horn.
Well sir, the Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, E Groups, Instagram and all sorts of new media are all tools to 'blow your own' horn. This is the business model that has made that Zuckerberg boy a billionaire. People want to blow their horns. They all want to "reach out and touch someone".
The big mystery is if you dislike my Blog so much why do you keep coming back? This is my space lah. Perhaps you are looking for some direction in life? Not employed gainfully enough? Ada kekosongan dalam hidup?
In a crony infested and corrupt country like Malaysia, there are many people who really, really do not like my Blog. These are u$ually the folks with ve$ted intere$t$. My Blog has caused plenty people to lose plenty moolas.
The Dusable guys in the US are certainly pissed. Talk is they planned to raise USD1.0 Billion (RM3.2 Billion) from the dunggus here in Malaysia.
They have already got USD500 Million (RM1.6 Billion) from 1MDB to invest in some solar powered electricity generation plant in Kedah etc. Too late folks. That money is gone out the door. Kita baca tahlil, talqin dan Yasin sekali lah.
They planned to raise another US$200.0 million (RM640.0 million). However because of the timely exposure on this Blog, that RM640 million is not going to happen now. Let us thank Allah that RM640 million has been saved.
The story is that they have targeted another GLC (the largest plantation company on the planet earth) to raise another US$300 million (RM960 Million). But again since this Blog has raised the matter, I hope that investment too is not going to happen. That means another RM960 million has been saved. In total RM1.6 Billion has been saved.
To blow my own horn, my biggest achievement todate in saving money for the country was in 2008. Recall in 2008 (under Slumberjack), there was a proposal that the gomen spend RM11.1 Billion to provide free WiFi for Kuala Lumpur.
RM11.1 Billion ? I knew something was not right. Just some simple search on Yahoo revealed that Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, the 5th largest city in the United States had installed free WiFi for just RM63 million. I blogged about it. Here is a part of that Blog post I wrote in November 2008 :

By Syed Akbar Ali
- Recently it was announced that RM11.1 Billion will be spent to string up a WiFi network in Kuala Lumpur.
- RM11.1 Billion? Dato Najib’s stimulus package for the whole country is only RM7.0 Billion. The Second Penang Bridge will cost about RM2.0 Billion (give or take some). The KLIA cost us a few Billion Ringgits only. RM11.1 Billion for a WiFi network in Kuala Lumpur?
- City officials in Philadelphia, USA strung up a WiFi Network. With 5.8 million people Metropolitan Philadelphia is the sixth most populous city in the United States, it is the fifth largest metropolitan area at 135 square miles and fourth largest urban area by population.
- In 2005 Philadelphia awarded a contract to set up a free WiFi network for citydwellers at a maximum cost of just USD18 Million (RM63.0 Million).
- If Philadelphia can set up a WiFi network over 135 square miles for 5.8 million people for just RM63.0 million, why is our WiFi network in Kuala Lumpur going to cost 176 times more at RM11.1 Billion? Can someone explain?
The RM63 Million WiFi system installed in Philadelphia was made up of shoe box sized WiFi routers fixed to lamp posts. Here is a picture I ran in my Blog in 2008.
That Blog post effectively killed that insane idea for the gomen to spend RM11.1 Billion of taxpayers money to string up a free WiFi network in KL.
However later I found out something interesting. The team under whichever Kementerian that was handling the RM11.1 Billion free WiFi project got a free trip, "lawatan sambil belajar" to Philadelphia to see for themselves if what I had raised in my Blog was true. I was the only Blog that raised that matter. The fact that the project died means that our country was saved RM11.1 Billion.
Then early this year, after MH370 and after the Sulus kidnapped people in Sabah, I found out that the Ministry Of Defense (under the previous Minister) had planned to buy maritime surveillance planes.
It was brought to my attention that the Made-In-India, German designed Dornier was the frontrunner. But the price tag was astounding - about RM200.0 million per plane.
If they planned to buy six Dorniers, that would be RM1.2 Billion. I pointed out in my Blog that the Dorniers cost only RM23.0 million each or RM138 million for six of them. Yet the price tag being bounced around was about 10 times as much ie around RM200.0 million a piece ! !
Again I did some simple research and found out some things, including price information about maritime surveillance planes. I wrote it in my Blog in April this year:
There was a comment from a pro-Dornier guy saying that the price of the Dornier was actually much, much higher. I pointed out that the Koreans had paid about RM23 million for a full specs Dornier coastal surveiilance aircraft. Again after that Blog post of mine I have not heard anymore about this "Dornier" project. We praise Allah.
If the RMAF wants to buy these Dornier aircraft we should not be paying more than RM25 Million per piece - with full specs. It is a very, very limited capacity aircraft anyway.
So folks, to blow my own trumpet I believe I have saved the country another RM1.2 Billion over the Dorier as well.
So RM11.1 Billion + RM640 Million + RM960 Million + RM1.2 Billion = RM13.9 Billion (lebih kurang lah).
Conclusion : Now here is the sad part. The cronies and the crooks behind all these insane money grabbing deals are often Datos and Tan Sris. They are all super rich.
On the other hand I have become the subject of criticism and threats, especially over the past week. And information I have received says that one superdunggu has been tasked to "watch" me. Considering that these are powerful people, I really have no one to turn to except Allah and to you folks - my Blog readers.
So folks, I really hope that there are still enough readers of my Blog who can support what I am doing.
Our country is in really great danger. The traitors, the treacherous, the crooks and the pirates now hold sway. If we dont hang together, they will certainly hang us separately. I hope we can support each other. Thank you.
Here is Tony Christie with some relevant lyrics:
Sleep like a baby, my little lady,
Dream till the sunrise
creeps into your eyes
Dream till the sunrise
Turns on the day.
In the Avenues and Alleyways
while you sleep there's a whole world coming alive
Able and his brother, fighting one another
in and out of every dive.
The Avenues and Alleyways
where the strong and the quick alone can survive
Look around the jungle
see the rough and tumble
Listen to a squealer cry
Then a little later
in the morning paper
Read about the way he died.
Wake up my pretty
Go to the city
Stay through the daytime
safe in the sunshine
stay till the daytime
turns into night.
In the Avenues and Alleyways
Where a mans gotta work out which side he's on
any way he chooses
chances are he loses
no one gets to live too long.
The avenues and alleyways
Where the soul of a man is easy to buy
everybody's wheeling
everybody's stealing
all the low are living high.
Every city's got em
can we ever stop em
some of us are gonna try.

- Both Lahad Datu and MH370 have shown that we have insufficient maritime air surveillance capability. There are plenty of options available on the market depending on scope, specs and budgets.
- Above: The C130J Sea Hercules, multi role maritime surveillance plane. Price tag : above RM200 million each.
- Below : The EADS Casa C295. Price tag : below RM100 million.
- The built-in-India Dornier (German) 19 seater plane. Price tag RM23 million each.
