PENGKALAN KUBOR: The situation in Geting, one of the voting areas in Pengkalan Kubor, is tense, with supporters of Umno and PAS exchanging coarse words.
The police and members of PAS’ Unit Amal are trying to ease the tension, but they appear to be encountering some difficulty with young motorcyclists convoying in a dangerous manner.
The bikers, judging from the clothes they have on and the comments they make, appear to be BN supporters.
Some PAS supporters are trying to diffuse the situation by calling on everyone to pray for victory instead of exchanging abuses.
Nevertheless, there has been no incidence of physical confrontation so far.
Meanwhile, the competing candidates are each conducting a tour covering the 11 polling stations.
The odds in the election are still 50-50, according to pundits.
