PAS business is the voters’ business

YOURSAY ‘If you don't want us to interfere, then don't come asking for votes.’

'I can apologise for nyanyuk, but would Hadi?'

Malaccan: PAS vice-president Tuan Ibrahim's argument doesn't hold water and is too late to ask other parties not to interfere in PAS affairs.

PAS had already interfered in the affairs of other parties when they rejected PKR’s choice for MB. More so, when Hadi spoke disparagingly of PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, his co-equal as president of an ally.

A leader who proposes to lead the state and nation must be accountable to everyone. Integrity doesn't end at the party's boundaries. Likewise, like it or not, PAS is no longer exclusive to itself. If it was, then it shouldn't run in elections.

It seems PAS thinks it can dish it out but no one has the right to respond in kind. Much like how it treats its own state assemblypersons.

Ferdtan: "We don't need to interfere in other parties and don't need to comment on other parties' leadership," said Tuan Ibrahim.

But what about your president, Abdul Hadi Awang? Is he an exception because he is a 'religious' man?

It looks like Tuan Ibrahim is an official personal 'apologist' for Hadi, explaining all his mistakes. Earlier he had 'interpreted' what Hadi's ‘barua’ speech meant.

Hadi was the one who said it and he should be the one to explain what he meant. By Hadi's silence, it showed he meant what he said. Tuan Ibrahim, Hadi doesn't need a public relation officer. It is not your job.

Anonymous #05023297: I voted for PAS in GE13 and I should be able to comment on matters that affect the party.

Do not tell me not to comment on PAS matters. Don't be a political party if you can't stand to be scrutinised.

Anonymous$&@?: Indeed, PAS business is our business, the voters, especially the non-Muslim and non-Malay voters. If you don't want us to interfere, then don't come asking for votes.

Imran: Yes, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, that is what I also believed for the last five years - that PAS is a lesser devil then Umno.

But with this MB episode, I beg to reconsider. And trust me, many of us who followed the whole fiasco will never ever again vote for Pakatan if they field a PAS candidate.

I would deliberately vote for a BN candidate. Between a corrupt BN candidate and a religious fanatic who uses words like 'barua', I prefer the corrupt fellow.

Kit Carson: All you good, right-thinking people out there please stay with Pakatan, with or without PAS. We have to save Selangor from you-know-who.

Nonono: This Selangor MB issue is creating havoc to Pakatan. PAS is split between the ulama and the progressives. DAP and PAS are at each other's throats. Now PKR deputy president Azmin Ali may cause PKR to split.

Law professor Azmi Sharom is being probed for sedition and law expert Abdul Aziz Bari could be called in soon. Don't be surprised if more are probed. Guess who is smiling from ear to ear while we are chasing our own tails. Please let sanity and wisdom prevail.

The rakyat wants Pakatan to form the new government. Settle all your internal feuds and stay focused in bringing positive change to Malaysia. Do not disappoint us. We have waited so long.

The Analyser: Pua, you sound like someone's aunty chastising a 12-year-old boy. If you are the face of future politics, why can't you come up with something proactive and inspiring instead of getting bogged down with old women's squabbles which pass as politics at the moment?

Cukup Lah: Pua, hats off to you for your intellectual approach to the matter. You are a shining star. You give Malaysia hope.

Strange that we have different sets of rules for different people. Hadi can condemn Wan Azizah but you cannot condemn Hadi? Very strange.

Disgusted: Umno is in high spirits now that PAS and the rest of Pakatan's members are at each other's throats. Umno has succeeded in driving a wedge between PAS on one side and DAP and PKR on the other.

The whole Selangor MB episode would have been okay if Umno did not fast-track Anwar's appeal and get the judges to fix him up in order to disqualify him from the MB's post.

The original Plan A was thwarted by Umno using all the institutions of government it controlled. Then when Pakatan swung into Plan B, they used the palace to thwart Pakatan's Plan B and provoked PAS to raise the issue using sex, race and religion to sabotage the plan.

Now the whole state administration is in doldrums and Umno is sitting in the gallery watching the fight with glee.

Both PAS and the rest of Pakatan have fallen into the trap and Umno's wish will come true when the coalition breaks up and a weakened PAS will no longer be a threat in rural areas.

Quigonbond: PAS is tripping all over themselves. They respect the principle of working as partners, yet don't think twice about subordinating PKR's prerogative with the interests of the Ulama faction. Unless the progressives take charge, PAS is a goner outside Kelantan. -Mkini
