The Ministry of Education's failure to conduct speedy investigations has affected almost half a million Primary 6 students and their families.
PETALING JAYA: Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming today suggested that both Ministers of Education, Muhyiddin Yassin and Idris Jusoh should be ‘reassigned’ to other duties.
He said if the Director of the Examinations Syndicate, Na’imah Ishak and her Deputy, Wan Ilias Wan Salleh can be ‘reassigned’ because of the UPSR fiasco, why not their bosses.
The nation was shocked by the respective UPSR Science and English examination papers leaks, and that the examination of these papers have to be postponed to 30 September.
“The Mathematics and Tamil papers were also found to have been leaked and the resit is on Oct 9.” he added.
Also commenting on the failure for speedy investigations, the Serdang MP said that “it is disgraceful and unacceptable” that the Ministry of Education took 10 days to discover the further leaks.
“As a result, our Primary 6 UPSR students will have to ‘suffer’ for another nine days to take their Mathematics and for some, their Tamil examination on Oct 9.
“They have to suffer a disruption in their schedules as well as mental anguish of having to resit some of the UPSR papers,” he said.
