MCA says even Malays don’t want PAS

PAS lost in Pengkalan Kubor because religion and not development was more important to them.
MCA SPRKUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth Central Committee Member Quek Tai Seong has said that PAS lost in the recent Pengkalan Kubor by-election, in a predominantly Muslim and Malay area, because even the Malays reject the prospect of Hudud being implemented in their state.
Quek also said that PAS was too preoccupied with spiritual matters instead of getting down to the real work of developing the state for the welfare of the people.
He added that if PAS had got their priorities right, Barisan Nasional would not have won with an even bigger majority compared to last year.
Saying if it wasn’t for BN and its many development projects in Pengkalan Kubor that benefited people of all races, the constituency would have faced many social and economic problems.
He said it was time people saw the Islamist party’s true colours.
