MACC, EC TO CLOSE AN EYE? Rich Muhyiddin donates RM300K to P Kubor businessmen, says to vote BN‎

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin ‎announced today he was donating RM300,000 to help businessmen in Pengkalan Kubor set up an entrepreneurs club, just three days before the by-election.
He told some 3,000 local businessmen comprising recipients of the Amanah Ikhtiar mi‎cro-credit loan known as Sahabat that he expected those from Pengkalan Kubor to come out and vote for Barisan Nasional candidate Mat Razi Mat Ail this Thursday.
"‎They asked for RM500,000, but I don't have money like Amanah Ikhtiar, so I am giving RM300,000," Muhyiddin said in a speech at Amanah Ikhtiar's prize-giving ceremony in the Maktab Rendah Sains Malaysia Tumpat, Kelantan.
"After this, we can see how it (the club) will help bus‎inessmen or the Sahabat who face problems, as well as expand business here, so that the Sahabat Entrepreneurs Club in Pengkalan Kubor can be an example for all other entrepreneurs clubs in Malaysia."
The Umno deputy president reminded the entrepreneurs in the hall that BN had helped reduce poverty levels in Malaysia since Merdeka, and‎ had even implemented a unique system called E-Kasih which allowed the needy to register to receive aid from the government.
"The BN government has taken several extremely effective steps. We not only formed the BN government, but united all races and fought poverty as best we could.
"The poverty rate has reduced from 80% to only 1.7%. This is the jihad (religious battle) that the BN government has undertaken, the jihad against poverty."
Muhyiddin said that the public should be grateful for such initiatives, and asked the audience if such programmes were "halal" (permissible in Islam) or "haram" (forbidden in Islam).
"I am not asking for anything in return. I am just asking that you vote for Ustaz Mat Razi," said Muhyiddin.
"Here, there are more than 1,400 who are voters (in Pengkalan Kubor), please come out and fulfil your duty and vote."
Early voting for the Pengkalan Kubor state by-election involving 109 policemen started at 8am yesterday at the polling centre in the Tumpat district police headquarters, Bernama reported.
The Election Commission (EC) said that the polling centre would close at 3pm. The ballots will only be counted on polling day on September 25.
T‎he by-election is a three-way fight between BN's Mat Razi, Wan Rosdi Wan Ibrahim of PAS and independent Izat Bukhary Ismail Bukhary.
The by-election was triggered following the death of three-term assemblyman Datuk Noor Zahidi Omar of BN, on August 20.
In last year’s general election, Noor Zahidi won by 1,736 votes to PKR’s Saharun Ibrahim, while independent candidate Izat Bukhary, who is contesting for a second time, only managed to win 65 votes.
Pengkalan Kubor has 24,039 voters. –TMI
