If not for our 4 exco, there'd be snap polls in Selangor - PAS amid 'traitor' accusations

If not for our 4 exco, there'd be snap polls in S'gor - PAS amid 'traitor' accusations
SHAH ALAM - Pas prevented a snap state election, Pas Selangor commissioner Iskandar Abdul Samad said in a statement today.
He said there had been a moment during the last one and a half months where the state government almost fell but it was averted when the four Pas state executive councillors worked to maintain the government.
"The four Pas excos, under the instructions of the party's central committee, remained in service and successfully saved the state government and prevented a snap state election.
"Although all four (remaining) excos were from Pas, we brought the spirit and principles of Pakatan Rakyat into the administration during that period (after six DAP and PKR excos were sacked)," he said, adding that it was fortunate that Pakatan was still governing Selangor.
The Cempaka assemblyman said the four excos, including himself, Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi (Sijangkang), Dr Halimah Ali (Selat Klang) and Sallehen Mukhyi (Sabak), had defended the interests of PR in the state government.
"For example, we have ensured that the services of the PKR and DAP excos had been continued and the programmes that were planned by these excos, whose services were terminated, would run smoothly," he said.
Besides that, he stressed that the four Pas excos had firmly rejected any cooperation with Umno and had even stated that they would resign if Umno was brought into the state government.
He urged everyone not to look backwards but instead move forward and strive to restore the people's trust in Pakatan.
"It is time to put the struggle to uphold the people back on the mainstage."
Iskandar offered Pas Selangor's congratulations to Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman Azmin Ali on his appointment as the new Selangor Menteri Besar.
"Pas central committee agreed to nominate Azmin as MB on Aug 17. Therefore, Pas Selangor is confident we can work with him for the betterment and progress of the people of Selangor.
"We hope that under his administration, the excellence achieved under the administration of Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will be continued," he said.
Iskandar also thanked Khalid for prioritising the people's interests and bringing innovation to the state. -NST
