A disgraceful alliance falling to pieces

We are all too familiar with the Billy Ocean song, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going”.

This opposition alliance that came upon us with a big bang, has proven itself to be a loose set of odd pieces trying desperately to fight for a common objective.

However what we are seeing all too clearly now is their true and ugly nature when tough decisions are to be made in the name of their survival.

Yes, they have emerged as a disappointing lot of egoistic individuals at the top, who can be easily manipulated.

From the beginning, we knew too well, it was more an “alliance of convenience” to topple the ruling coalition.

Can we still trust this lot and give them the mandate to take control of the nation? Certainly not as far as I am concerned, as it would appear like putting our necks on the guillotine.

They have now started to bicker and are trying to exert their influence and control over their weak and makeshift coalition. In the process, they have lost sight of their original objective.

There is too much washing of their dirty linen in public. They have become a totally hapless and hopeless bunch.

It now does not matter to me who takes control of Selangor because whoever does will probably behave in the same way.

It all works out to Barisan Nasional’s favour and whether they have had a hand in this fiasco or not, is left to the individual to decide.

India has overcome Congress’ control but Malaysia is still too immature. It would probably take another few years for our political leaders to realise and appreciate our cosmopolitan heritage and to work towards unity and strength.

So my choice is still to go with the devil I know rather than the angel who cannot find a common stand but continues to blows a lot of hot air.
