The six executive councillors sacked by Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim have been given two weeks to vacate their office.
"They have one to two weeks to vacate their office," Khalid also said in a press conference held after the weekly exco meeting ‎in Shah Alam today.
Khalid said he had written to the sultan, seeking his approval to sack the six after learning they did not support him as MB.
The six are Datuk Teng Chang Khim, V. Ganabatirau and Ean Yong Hian Wah (DAP), while the three PKR excos are Elizabeth Wong, Dr Daroyah Alwi and Rodziah Ismail. All the excos, except for Rodziah who is overseas, turned up for work today.
State secretary Datuk Mohamed Khusrin Munawi was also reported as saying by Bernama that the DAP and PKR excos have to vacate their office in the state secretariat building as their sacking has received the sultan of Selangor's consent.
“Their sacking was consented to by the sultan of Selangor, effective August 12. They are, therefore, barred from continuing their jobs,” Khusrin was quoted as saying.
Five of the councillors received their letter of termination yesterday while Rodziah is out of the country.
Khalid's move leaves him and four PAS excos as the state government.
Today, all four PAS excos turned up for the weekly exco meeting, despite calls by its Pakatan Rakyat partners to boycott it in a show of solidarity with their sacked counterparts.
Exco Iskandar Abdul Samad arrived as early as 7am to avoid the media followed by Dr Halimah Ali at 9.30am and Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi five minutes later.
Sallehen Mukhyi, the exco in charge of religious affairs, was the last PAS exco to arrive for the meeting.
