The wealthy in Indonesia seem to be well educated (secular education) and can speak good English. The poor speak only Bahasa Indonesia, have too many kids (the woman in the video has seven kids??) and end up poor.
The same is happening in Malaysia. Those who speak English occupy the higher strata of society. They have more modern and scientific education. They have higher income levels. The poor usually can only speak one language.
This seems to be a deliberate policy. To create a society differentiated by their economic standing. The very few and very exclusive wealthy and elites versus the large masses of the non English speaking, unsophisticated and poorer masses, usually infected by large doses of religion as well.
