Caught on camera: Angry Malaysian woman beats grandpa, 80

A 24-year-old woman was caught on video beating her grandfather, 80, with a stick after he scolded her for being rude to her grandmother.

The woman hit the old man, who had difficulty moving about after suffering a stroke, in front of their house in Batu Pahat on Sunday, reported China Press.

She also tried to grab her grandfather's walking stick from him by hitting his hand with her stick.

She only stopped when a passer-by and two policemen happened upon the scene.

The grandfather said later that he had scolded his granddaughter after she rudely told her grandmother to fetch her a plastic bag.

"I did not expect her to hit me and injure my eye," he said.

"The police called an ambulance and I had to get a few stitches at the hospital."

The four-minute video of the beating has been shared on social media.

The woman has since apologised on her Facebook page for her actions and said she would also apologise to her grandfather. -Asiaone
