Breaking his silence a week after the incident, a member of the Johor royal family mourns the death of his Estonian model girlfriend, whom police believe was murdered.
Regina Soosalu (left) had gone to a resort in Pulau Rawa on July 1. Hours later, her body was found on the beach and it was initially thought she had drowned.
But when suspicious wounds were found on her remains, the police classified the case as murder.
Her boyfriend, Tengku Alang Reza Ibrahim, was apparently too distraught for words before this.
However, in a Facebook posting on Tuesday, he poured his heart out and described the Kuala Lumpur-based freelance model’s loss as "the worst tragedy of his life".
"Regina my love has passed away on July 1, in the holy month of Ramadan.
"She is my love, my best friend and will continue to be my inspiration for the rest of my life.
"Her heart was filled with greatness, love, compassion for all beings and life itself.
"Words cannot express the emptiness and heartache I feel. Farewell for now, never goodbye.
"Till we meet again I love you my baby, you’ll always be in my heart," wrote Tengku Alang (right).
The police have detained six suspects in connection with the case but have yet to record a statement from her boyfriend.
Meanwhile, The Star quoted a friend of Soosalu's claiming that the model and her boyfriend were not on good terms over the last few months.
"Previously, we often met up but things have changed. They fought a lot in front of everyone," he said.
