The elderly man who was seen in a viral video being threatened by a woman over a traffic tiff said he would not press charges, the Star Online reports.
His son, Robin Sim, said although his father was traumatised by the incident, he has decided not to pursue the matter.
Sim told the daily that he had initially wanted to press charges against the woman.
Meanwhile, Malaysiakini quoted Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar as saying that police were investigating the woman for road bullying.
“I, myself, have just watched the footage. She was so fierce, hitting there and here,” Khalid was quoted as saying by the news portal.
The two-and-half minute video of the incident has gone viral on YouTube and social media since yesterday.
The video has set off a series of parodies and remarks, with Malaysians condemning the woman for her rude behaviour.
The woman was apparently incensed that her three-door Peugeot 208 had been hit by a car driven by the elderly man. She then alighted from her vehicle, armed with a car steering lock, before screaming at the man.
The young woman refused to listen and continued shouting and hitting at the man's car in front of shocked onlookers, even when the man was heard saying he was prepared to compensate.
"You see what you did?! Pay me now, two thousand! Pay me now!" screamed the woman.
The Malaysian Insider reported earlier that many online commentators couldn't help noticing that she was wearing the hijab, the Islamic headdress worn by Muslim women, and said her action did not reflect Muslim behaviour, especially in the month of Ramadan.
