KUALA LUMPUR - A videoclip of a woman who went berserk and intimidated an elderly male motorist following a minor car accident in Kuantan made its rounds in cyberspace today.
The videoclip, captured by a bystander, showed the angry 30-year-old waving a car steering wheel lock and yelling profanities and racist remarks at a 67-year-old man whose Toyota hit her Peugeot.
Although the damage to the woman’s vehicle was minor, she demanded the man pay RM2,000 while she hit the man’s car with her steering lock.
Both parties lodged police reports on the accident and the Toyota owner was issued a summons for the offence. However, he chose not to lodge a report against the woman, saying he had forgiven her for her uncouth behaviour.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, however, was not as forgiving as the retiree.
“I saw the video earlier and this is a road bully. We will proceed to investigate the woman for her actions regardless if a police report was lodged or not by the victim.” he said.
Netizens, incensed at her rude behaviour exposed the woman’s identity, contact details and Facebook account, including information of the bridal company she allegedly works in.
Meanwhile, in a posting on its Facebook page, mobile telecommunications provider DiGi has offered to pay for the damage to the two cars.
“Things might have gotten out of hand,” read the message, “but we saw a really patient uncle who showed us the value of empathy. Uncle, if you’re reading this, please let us know in the comments below. We’d love to pay for the repair of your car. To the one who was upset, we know it was a tough situation but if you could find it in your heart to forgive, we’ll fix yours too.” -Sundaily
