Umno should protest water rationing in Perak, too

YOURSAY 'Noh Omar, there is also water rationing in Kamunting and Taiping...'

S'gor Umno vows protests if rationing not lifted

Hello: Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar Noh Omar, don't be a hypocrite. Umno-BN is responsible for the present water woes of Selangor as well as that being faced in the other states, by first privatising and giving the assets to its cronies.

If these 'privateers' were not so profit oriented and lived up to their responsibilities by cutting water wastage, there wouldn't be any water rationing today.

Any demonstrations held by you and your ilk, is actually a protest against your party, Umno-BN.

Anonymous #03815719: Noh Omar, water rationing is also being carried out in Kamunting and Taiping in Perak causing severe hardship to the rakyat under BN rule.

Perhaps Pakatan Rakyat may also start a protest and conduct roadshows against the BN Perak government on May 4.

Too Lan: Such comments coming from Umno tells a lot about the party and its backward mentality. Time has stood still as far as they are concerned, still believing the public are still blinded by the mainstream media to believe whatever they utter.

As if they do not know that Selangor water is controlled by companies run by BN cronies under the jurisdiction of the federal government.

Patriot1: Maybe this clown should bring his cronies to do a rain dance or better, shout at the gods for rain. That makes more sense than what they are saying.

The whole freaking country is affected by the exceptionally dry weather, understand? Really, stupidity has no limits.

Commentable: Umno never ceases to amaze the public. Tactics used such as these, finger pointing and demonstrations, can't hold water anymore. The solution is simple and all it takes is political will by the federal government aka BN or aka Umno.

Just remove the clutches of monopoly by the current Umno cronies and water will immediately be free flowing once more.

Ketuanan Rakyat: Umnoputras, you are directly responsible for what is happening now. Pakatan is trying to solve the problem, but your bosses in Putrajaya are putting all kinds of obstacles to let your cronies continue to siphon off billions before letting the state take over the state's water assets and manage water supply effectively.

Anonymous #13957745: Rightly put - Selangor's water is controlled by Umno's crony under the jurisdiction of the federal government. The Selangor government is being held to ransom.

Syabas in the red, yet the crony CEO Rozali Ismail's monthly salary is more than RM500,000 and along with perks totals tens of millions.

In the corporate world, the CEO would already have been axed long, long ago. So, this is Bolehland, run by dumb and dumber.

Syabas' non-revenue water wastage (NRW) is over 30 percent, which is totally unacceptable. Singapore's NRW is less than 8 percent. Still, Noh Omar can talk crap

Swipenter: For five decades there has been no national water policy under the Umno-led government to prevent water shortage. These rapists of our country resources just go on plundering without even giving one single thought on water catchment conservation.

There is water everywhere in Bolehland but where is the protection for our catchment areas,  which are vital to feed and conserve water for our rivers and dams to reserve it for dry spells? Noh is the one playing politics with water and is misleading the rakyat.

The Langat 2 treatment plan is at best a short-term measure to alleviate water shortage, and is not a water conversation project.

Mob1900: Syabas is (effectively) Umno-owned and the National Water Services Commission (Span) is behind the water rationing. This crisis is a set up by Umno with drama drummed up, while in reality they're the cause for the rationing.

It seems Umno is willing to set fire ablaze behind the veil and blame it on Pakatan. These are indeed Nazi tactics at play.

Fateh: This country is never short of clowns playing monkey. Who are the culprits that have caused so many, including businesses, to be affected by this water crisis?

Gen2: By May 4, the rainy season would have filled up the dams and rationing will be lifted. These leaders will then claim credit for the lifting of the water rationing.

The Mask: I didn't know the state government had refused to buy water from Negeri Sembilan. How true is this?

So what have you got to say to this, Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim? The state government now owes us an explanation for having made us to suffer when there is a way out.

What is the surplus of millions in the coffers for when it is not used for such a purpose?

Fourtan: Noh, if there is no water, there is no water, however many roadshows you do. Do a bomoh rain dance, it would be better.

Or ask the Syabas CEO to fix the pipes, that would be better still. - Malaysiakini
