Umno service centre gets splashed with paint

The Umno service centre at Bukit Antarabangsa became the target of vandalism with a red and black paint attack on Wednesday night, committee members claim.

According to Umno Bukit Antarabangsa acting executive secretary, Hamdan Mohd Salleh, the incident where two plastic bags, one filled with red paint, the other with black, is believed to have happened on Wednesday night.

"Our deputy division chief, who is also the service centre supervisor, discovered what had happened at about 11am the next day.

"He has lodged a police report on the matter at the Hulu Kelang police station this morning," he said when contacted.

Hamdan said that the paint was splashed onto a banner with a BN logo, the service centre's gate, retaining wall and Umno and BN flags which had lined the front lawn.

"This is the first time it has happened," he said. He added that there were no signs of an attempted break in or any other damage.

String of political violence

NONEThe atttack is the latest among a string of political violence which has grown more frequent in the lead up to the 13th general election.

Both Pakatan Rakyat and BN parties have complained ofvandalism of their premises and vehicles, mostly in the form of splashed paint.

The more severe cases include the suspected arson which guttedthe living room and front porch of Johor PAS deputy commissioner Dzulkefly Ahmad's home in February.

Politicians have also received death threats, including Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming and Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein who both received live bullets in the mail last year.
